Monster Truck Rally

Monster Truck Rally is an isometric off-road racing game that came out for the NES in 1991. INTV Corp released it. You steer huge monster trucks across dirt tracks filled with mud pits, ramps, and cars to crush. Up to four players can join in.

How to Play Monster Truck Rally Easily

Enjoy Monster Truck Rally online and you step back into the world of eight-bit racing. Racing games on those consoles had to work around weak hardware. The machines could not draw true perspective. So the top-down view became the standard answer. It keeps the track easy to read. The console never has to draw a horizon. Speed shows up through scrolling alone.

The cost is that you lose the feel of height in jumps. You also lose the sense of how big the trucks are, which is a big part of what makes monster trucks fun. Knowing this helps you enjoy the retro style for what it is.

Look ahead for mud pits and ramps, and plan your line early. This monster game is a fun look at how racing worked on classic consoles.
